Gossen Luna Pro meter battery adapter query

It's been a year since I've used my Gossen and I can't remember how the batteries go in the adapter. Can someone help me? Do they sit + or - side up inside the adapter?

Many thanks. You would think that they could put the same info on the instruction card that comes w/ the $39.95 adapter for people like me who have CRS (Can't Remember ****) disease!
