Hi... Someone mentioned this great hand held meter recently;
was it 'back alley?' I was lucky enough to find a Luna Pro in Exc-
condition in a Jerusalem photo shop last year. The case showed
some wear, and the meter is perfect.

This is the meter against which I check all other meters. In this land
of abundant sunshine, one can misread for shadow detail with
built-in meters. Yes, I know... expose 400 film at 250, etc...
When I can, in a variety of lighting situations, I like to do incident
readings with the Luna Pro.

Ciao, mike

Mike,

After decades of wanting one, a Luna-Pro arrived with a camera I bought last year. It's beat up but accurate. When it arrived it had 1.5v alkaline batteries in it. A quick check against my Weston meter gave me pause for concern. I put Wein 1.35v zinc-air batteries in the Luna-Pro and all is well!

Good luck!

The issue with these is batteries. The best ones to get are the ones that have been converted to use alkaline cells and had a calibration check. There may have been some late models designed for alkaline cells -- not sure.

If you get a good converted and calibrated unit you will be happy. It's one of the best.

I went with Polaris digital one -allows both incident and reflected yet pocketable. For 100$ (used) I cnosider it good deal...
