Hi,

picked up my ZI sidegrip at the PO.
Tony sent it in no time...Thanks!

It is just a bit smaller than the Leica M grip. Larger hands might want to try before buying. Otherwise same material and surface.
Pls find some pics attached.

Ciao

Joe,

nice work adapting the grips.
My guess is there is no need for a ZI grip. The more edgy design goes well with the ZI.

Hey Joe,

I received my ZI and its grip today as well. Comparing with the metal PhotoEquip M-Grip, the ZI grip is definitely a little more shallow.

The grip seems to be plenty deep enough for me though I haven't done much shooting with it yet. I don't use a grip on my Bessa as the "ergo-bulge" in the back is enough. Mileage varies I guess.

The plastic of the grip seems alright. There's some give in the upright of the ZI-grip when it's not on the camera, which doesn't happen with the PhotoEquip product. On the camera, things seems solid enough to me.

Side by side with a camera sporting a PhotoEquip M-Grip, it does seem that one definitely inspired the other.

congrats jason.

they look good and might be nicer as i assume they are a bit lighter than the aluminum mgrips.
i'm thinking that the looks of them compared with the mgrip is gonna be a personal decision. the mgrip, being more angled than the zi grip seems to 'fit' the looks of the camera better to me.
i might order one just to check them out.

Holy cow.. I ordered my ZI grip from Popflash on Friday and it's here already (via USPS)!

It is a bit on the small side, but I think it feels fine in my smallish hands.

I do agree that asthetically the squareness of Joe's grips do blend with the ZI's design much better, though.

That's looking for a rumble?

Sheesh.. you guys should spend some time on the Sigma forum on dpreview. Now THAT is a tough crowd!

I have to say that the civilized nature of this forum is a great unforseen benefit of my transition back to film.

Yep.. I got it... It was part of what I was referring to. The absolute venom that filled the forum I was hanging around previously was simply unbelievable.

We're on the UWS near 72nd St. Deep down I'm a Jersey guy, though.

Are you still in the NY area?
