Got $$$ for a f1.0 lens?

I met a woman at a camera shop who's hubby bought her one of those for their anniversary. She only has a 35 lux and now a 50 Nocti. She even says she uses it for general photography and loves it.

Someday. It is called "Noctilust". I also know someone with the F1.1 Nikkor; got to play with it on my Nikon SP. I toyed with the idea of selling the Nikon M unsync, which would fetch the money for either one. A Nikon M with factory Sync sold for $1650 on EBay; AS-IS FOR PARTS!

Until then, I have my Canon F0.95 for the C7 and F1.2 for the M3.

I hear ya, Brian. Is this Voigtlander Wide Angle Nokton 35mm f/1.2 Aspherical Manual Focus M Mount Lens you got? I'd love to see some samples of that baby!

No, I think Brian has the Canon 50/1.2. I have seen some shots taken with the CV 35/1.2 Nokton and was pretty impressed. You can probably find a couple threads over at Photo.net regarding the 35 Nokton.

Brian,

You probably would have bought my pristine SP for the 1,200 bucks I sold it for. (huge tears)

I just bought the 35 nokton, Ill let you know what I think-- Ive owned a noctilux twice, and just have never been all that thrilled--

Natalie, I have the Canon 50mm F1.2. I do not have any lenses for my RF's younger than 40.

Dusty, AAAARRRGGGHHHHHH.... At least tell me it was chrome...

NO MORE SELLING NIKONS WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!!!!

I picked up a near mint chrome SP for (just) under $2K with lens, and a great user last year for $925 with the F1.4 lens. The latter needed a little TLC, but the sellers over-honest description scared everyone else away.

I should also add that the SP was much cheaper than a sports car; changing careers; or any other 40-something crisis that hits people. My 40-something crisis was apparently switching from Nikon SLR's to Nikon RF's. I am a very boring person and am easily amused.

Even though one of my favorite things in photography is to completely isolate the subject from its background, I have found that f/1.2 is enough for me. If Leica made an f/1 SLR lens, then I would probably lust over it. At some levels I think: "What's the point of a super speed lens if you can't be astonished how bright it is every time you look through the viewfinder?"

Brian,

My real prob on the black SP - didn't know how to classify. Couldn't call it new-in-the-box although the seal had never been broken on the box -- 20 years on my shelf - not new. Couldn't really say "mint" because I'd never seen it. "Pristine" seemed fair and it didn't last long. A Canadian FLEW in to pick it up. Made me wonder if I'd sold too cheap.

Now I am crying. Everyone may fell free to contact me on prices on classic Nikon equipment.

I passed on a Black Nikon SP with the Motor Plate for $10,000. The seller could not verify that it was not a repaint and I was not going to bust the CD for Nikki's Freshman year of college, saved out of my "camera fund". Later I bought a camera (My Mint Canon 7 w 50mm F1.4 for $400) and told the seller that I came very close to getting the SP, rationalizing that I would resell it. But I knew would never part with it, so I did not BIN. The guy who did buy it resold it for $12K.

Brian,

The noise you hear in the background is NOT a gunshot. Just an old guy sobbing in a corner (Big Grin). Only a camera, eh? But too pretty to use, and he also bought a few lenses he saw on the same shelf. I will NOT list those for obvious reasons.

I still have a couple of lenses that fit timewise for your M. Both MIOJ. I'll PM later.

Depends on which SP you're talking about! My midlife-crisis sports car only cost $1,500...

Wow! Beautiful. Donate it to Leica and relieve them of their cash crunch!

The M-Hexanon 50/1.2 is an amazing lens. Some googled reviews place it above the Noctilux.
