so i finally got my first rangefinder!!! Picked up a Yashica electro GT and I must say, I am loving it. Shot through a test roll over the weekend and the camera seems to be working, although my eyes seem very... untrained.
no matter, gotta practice more now!
I did have some questions if anyone was willing to help me out - I'm having trouble using the rangefinder, it's there and seems to be working but it's a bit challenging to see especially under low light. any suggestions? what could add on to the challenge might be the slight haze i have in my viewfinder.. thinking about sending it in for CLA. -_- i'm going to be so broke..
- Can anyone recommend a reliable, and inexpensive light meter?
thanks everyone!

Oh and, one more thing.. does anyone have the tele and wide viewfinder they're willing to sell me? I've been looking on Ebay but they're charging an arm and a leg for it ($45). Ridiculous.. please let me know!

I got simple lightmeter for couple of bucks, with needle - nothing fancy, but it works. Is Electro the camera for which you are looking lightmeter or it's for different needs, say, check your guesses?
Hazy VF can be cleaned, just be very careful and read around - you are warned about semi-silvered glass.
When top cover will be removed for cleaning VF/RF glass, check POD in same time.

semi-silvered glass is all about which can be damaged in a breeze and make RF focusing unavailable.

If you don't want to open up your camera for cleaning there's another, a bit simpler approach to at least try to increase the rangefinder contrast. Check out this site:
