Got my GSN!

So today, I received my Yashica Electro 35 GSN!

I got it off *Bay from " j_wickum8k82 " who is IMO a very courteous and responsive seller. The camera's price went high, but seriously, this thing is in mint condition, almost looks like it's out of the box. Came with the original manual, and a beautiful case.

The foam gasket is starting to deteriorate around the film housing, but I will replace it. Does anyone know a really good tutorial and what materials to get to replace this gunky stuff? Would be greatly appreciated.

Loaded up a roll of KodakMax 400 (I know... it's the only thing I had lying around the house.)

Will post up some pictures after I shoot this roll and get it developed! 😀

Congratulations! Looks good! Greyhoundman is the one for advice on replacing seals. And another one of our members - John Goodman - is the source for the materials (Look for "interslice" on ebay.)

That's an awesome camera, i'm sure you will enjoy it. It feels so natural when i'm shooting it; no complicated viewfinder, no complicated metering or lack of it, just plain simple: set aperture and focus. It can also do some nice action shots; i've shot plenty of beach volley and funky outdoor games of my friends; good for low light too, fast lens and veeeery long sh speeds (the longest in the category, maybe the longest EVER except the bulb-and-black-hat trick).
