Got my SP today!

I'm sick and tired of all the "I got my D3 today" postings on various other forums, so I really shouldn't do this. But I can't resist.

I recently found a SP body with a 5cm f/1.4 for sale here in Norway. The seller didn't know much about the camera, and sent me a less than perfect photo. I didn't really know what to expect, and bid accordingly. Luckily, I got it for a *very* fair price.

The camera arrived today and I was simply blown away! It's an early model with a cloth shutter, and it's gorgeous! The viewfinder is bright and beautiful, the inside is perfectly clean, operation is smooth, shutter speeds appear to be very accurate, and so on. A few scratches on the bottom plate, some missing paint here and there, but still a very clean camera. A perfect companion to my beautiful S2:

I can hardly wait to load a roll of Tri-X! Woohoo!

It's a little smaller than those Nikon E3's...

The lens may not the one it originally came with. Nikon had mostly switched to black barrels by the time the camera was made. Optically the same, though. And it's a very late chrome lens, as well, judging by the serial number.

Hi, Jarle! Have you had an opportunity to run some film through that beauty? My S3 2000 is being used and hope to figure out the ergonomics/workflow soon and I will try some Tri-X.😕

Jarle, good looking SP. Now you should use it until it looks like my "beater" (go to our Flickr site and type in the tag "Tale of two SP's"). It will take 5-10 000 rolls, but it is worth it.
This will of course get you to pick up a 35/2,5 or 35/1.8 and the formidable 105f2.5! It never ends does it!
Good shooting and 1/250 @f8 and be there.

Film loaded, but I haven't had a chance to use it much yet. I'll post some photos later.

And yes - I'm currently looking for a 35mm. Alternatively, I may get a wide Voigtlander instead. Haven't decided yet. Maybe I'll have to get both 🙂

28mm is very nice to shoot with an SP.
