After a fight with myself about a Voightlander R3M with some nice Hexanon glass, or a Contax G2, I was reminded of this little gem, and guess what I did?
I ordered a BGN Silver from KeH, not sure what to expect...
A few days later an original Black arived in the mail, missing the eyecup (Whatever) and with a small gold engraving on the side (Japanese symbols? and the number 015?) and other than that, is completely imaculate.
Scanned a first few images and will be uploading them later on today.
They look gorgeous, I think I'm in love.
It sure is quite a step up from a Minolta AF2, that's for sure.

If it's silver, it must be the AF. Which is a far superior camera, vastly underrated. Hang on, what am I saying, I am looking for a backup...

hexar AF? Not as pretty as an M3, so loud it gives me tinnitus, and the logo is cheesy.

Haha.
Of course the AF.
It's a damn beauty.
Sorry about not sticking images up yet, hecktick schedule, will have them up tomorrow.
I can't believe this lens, and the functionality of this camera is everything I could have wished for.

That said, you're not getting my HEXAR.
There is however, the same model going for 350$ on Photo.net right now, as you say you're looking for a backup.
Just hope one of my friends that's seen this thing doesn't want it more than you do.

So glad I didn't go for the G2, I can enjoy Ziess glass later in life, probably on a nice Bessa R3 body.

Hexar AF and RF

Hexar AF and RF

My most preferred camera on the road, however the RF has tremendous glas to.

Have fun,

A couple images from the first couple rolls, and a portrait of myself with the camera by a friend, who took the shot 6 times before telling me "You paid how much for this thing? The shutter wont even fire."

lol.

nice pics for the first roll, too.

it's a lovely camera.
I dragged mine this summer through red vulcanic dust and sweaty rain forest, it worked flawlessly and no sign of it ever giving it up.
There's a battery in it since ages (the prev. owner put it in years ago... He also had 3 spare batteries he gave me, that are running out of date, since he never had to put a new one in the camera, LOL). I don't know how it can consume so little, with the motorized film transport.

Welcome to the Hexar AF world! And a nice world it is... :) Probably more than 50% of my B&W rolls were shot with the Hexar and lots of keepers.

The Hexar is a very resilient camera (I dropped mine at least a couple of times on very hard surfaces with no problem - except cosmetic - whatsoever), except for the shutter button. Eventually, you'll need to get it's contacts cleaned or even replaced. In more than 10 yrs of (ab)use, I had it cleaned once and replaced another. Painless, BTW, at least in Portugal, Konica service was impeccable.

The Hexar AF is replet with very well thought-out small things (like the silent mode, or leaving the film tab outside when rewinding or the pre-focus on a certain distance) and lens quality is second to none (for my taste, of course, but I do own/ed a lot of very good 35s).

Best of luck...

Whew...know how much you remind me of Der Stingle? (Must me the severe stare.) ;)

You'll love that Hex AF, pal. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Curiousity...
Mine has an engraving that I've seen on many other ones on ebay.
Its gold and on the hinge side of the camera, what apears to be japanese or korean (I'd assume japanese but I dont really know) with a number after it.
Mine is 015 but I've seen as high as 118.
I've only seen it on other original black models.
Anyone know what this is?
