Paul is correct but you need to be real careful about bending the lugs, when the lens is correct it should be as easy any Leicia or Zorki lens to pull out and lock (wedge) into place.

Noel, that's why I'm seeing about this other Sonnar on eBay. That way I hopefully won't need to adjust anything. I daren't ruin a lens

I have a Collapsible Tessar 2.8 in my Contax. Once at home, it needed some cleaning where the lugs lock in the lens barrel. There was some grease inside, and it dried collecting some dust. It caused the lens to remain unlock.
I would recommend to check this prior to bend the lugs. If lugs are in good shape, once locked the lens won´t get loose unless you want it.
