hi all, i just received my gr1v last friday and so happy bout it. all condition was great. just got a question on the viewfinder though...is it the battery problem or not, as i look into the finder and can't barely see the inside which should have the symbols and shutter speed?

If the camera is switched off, there's nothing to see in the viewfinder (except your subject, of course, but that's not that important
The framelines, shutter speed and distance symbols only appear with the camera switched on.

I find they're not all that bright on the GR1. The camera uses daylight to illuminate the framelines etc. when it's bright enough and an internal light source (which makes the front window light up green) when it's dark.
On a dull day they can be pretty hard to see - especially with glasses. Although I find I don't really need to see them often.
Turn the camera on and try using in a lowly lit room just to ensure it is functioning.
Otherwise it's a superb camera - enjoy!

oh i see...actually, what i ment is during it switched on, anyway, i'll try my best not to depend on the viewfinder screen...thanks for the responds.

My GR1v framelines, symbols and shutter speed are very clearly visible. Bright, sharp and well defined. I would try cleaning the battery contacts with an erazer on the end of a pencil and try a brand new battery.

oh is it? the battery might cause it? hmm, worth to try. coz, mine, the inserted battery was half used. might change to new one though and look for any difference. can wait to fully utalize my gr1v!
