Naomi Stanley's excellent "Solitude" nudes (I think the series was named "Man At The Window") from the early 1980s exhibit a similar, beautiful rendering with huge, soft grain. The only way I've gotten results that were similar with a digital camera were to take my old E-1, set it to ISO 1600, and underexpose by two stops. Once rendered down to monochrome, just a little bit of softening finally approaches that sweet and grainy appearance.
Your rendering is a bit harder edged, but very enjoyable.

Does reducing agitation make it more difficult to separate the grain from the chaff?
