I came across this photographer's website whilst googling and it has some beautiful images captured with the CV 35/1.2 .
well worth a look......

Yummy... I look forward to try mine, which just arrived this morning.
No such 'exotic' subjects at hand, though ;)

Very effective use of a fast lens at wide aperature.

I wouldn't sell yourself too short. The photographer living in Tokyo would probably find your pictures from the Paris environs "exotic."

My god, Alec, you live in the most beautiful city in the world! I found everything exotic and beautiful when my wife and I visited last year. cheers

I am by no means complaining about the city of light but with a day job as a business consultant and a night job as a father of three boys I certainly miss a lot of opportunities!

It's much bigger than my Nikkor 50 1.2
I think this is a very specialist lens designed be used at 1.2 and certainly a good price for what it is but having had the Noctilux once before i would still prefer to shell out the exta $ if i wanted F-stops 1.2 or 1.0. At the time of handling the CV35/1.2 i opted for a used 35/1.4 lux pre ASPH (same price as the as new CV) which is very compact and has its own special qualities but that's got nothing to do with the point of posting this thread!

but is it that much bigger than other 1.2 lenses?

I don't own any 1.2 lenses (the fastest lens I own is 1.7). As Simon pointed out, its a specialist lens. I'd like to own it for the speed, but I wouldn't want to carry it around all the time, and since 35mm is my favorite focal length, that would grow tiring. I can't afford to own the 35/1.2 plus another 35mm lens for general purpose use. Therefore it will remain a lens I could only dream about owning.
