greatest quest...ultimate goal?

Images: To make images that please me.

Gear: My gear needs are to get rid of some and only keep what I really like/need.

Images: Produce pleasing that I can print and hang on the wall

Gear:Stay with film as long as possible
Amen to that. Kodak Tri-X is still affordable but Fuji's E6 emulsion prices are becoming painful. At least we can still get them, though.

To answer the question posited -
Images: To have my images published in book form
Gear: What I currently own (Nikon, Leica M, Hasselblad XPAN).

Images: To make my memories live vibrant, for me.

Gear: Already got some cameras I like. An enlarger that can handle atleast 6x9 and some more old cameras to tinker with (not for shooting. I just enjoy getting them working again).

Pursuit of the final image is not my ultimate goal. Photography helps me to see the world more critically, to explore the relationships between its various parts. The slower paced manual process of film photography is conducive to this, and gear should be simple and not get in the way.

Images: Greater expressiveness, depth, meaning, poetry.

Gear: Whatever supports the above.

Very nice to hear everyone's goals. All the best with them.

John

Images: Family - Have grandchildren to photograph!

Gear: New computer. Getting so I get told to upgrade my browser when at certain sites. Can't because OS is too old. May get a tablet computer! Going to wait, hope I can use my current laptop until the end of this year.

image hopes: to create a few (6 ?) images every year that don't bore me,
and are better than pictures I've already made before.

gear dreams: nothing specific; I buy gear mostly to exercise my brain in new
ways of doing the same old thing (making pictures) - AHHHH . . . I LIED . . .
. I want a $5000 computer / printer setup so I can do post-processing like
the big kids do.
