Just joined yesterday-Just wanted to say that I am shooting again after not having picked up a camera in nearly 10 years. Sites and blogs look to make photography so much more enjoyable than years ago when the only common meeting ground for photographers were the "Camera Clubs" (the word "Salon" comes to mind for some reason). I really enjoy shooting with my ELECTRO 35.
Back in the 60s and 70s,I turned my nose up at it because I always saw piles of them in the windows of the "tourist trap" stores around Midtown Manhattan, usually selling for double the usual retail. Little did I known how capable it was!

Welcome to the forum, Mike! Here we like talking about photography and cameras (as you probably perceived before joining). Since you're a Yashica-toter, you'll fit right in!
Have a nice weekend!

Too much aint enough!
I considered selling off my collection, but cameras of the 30s to the 80s have the feel and look of fine mechinery, like classic sports cars and firearms;I believe that they will hold value evern whenfilmm is a thing of the past.

The electro has a nice lens - I have one too. The GS.
Welcome, and yes, this forum does add a great deal to the experience. One of the few wonderful aspects of the internet is how it allows those who would be alone in some endeavor to become very un-alone.
Any hour of the day or night, any day of the year - this is the nonstop, 24/7/365 camera club of the Earth.
