Growing old

A man I saw by the Mong Kok MTR station in Hong Kong. He was walking around in disbelief looking at how far the protesters went during the Umbrella Revolution earlier last year.

A Lady I met at the Sanjya Matsuri festival in 2014 May - in the Asakusa district of Tokyo. The festival is coming up again soon - can't wait to go!

She was telling me a story about the street we were on - how years went by with very minimal change.

And finally a "friend" if I can call him that - he hosts me and my friends every year at the above mentioned Sanjya matsuri festival. He is a volunteer firefighter and lives in a house that used to have an izakaya (bar) on it's ground floor - just like how the rest of the people in the street did. When the bubble burst in Tokyo in the 1990's, the number of people drinking out decreased and so a lot of these little stores ended up closing their doors. The bar is still there with all the glasses and empty bottles - quite a thing to see.

Growing old ... while retaining a wicked sense of humour! :) (mid eighties left ... late eighties right)
