GS noise

I'm new to RF film cameras and I just got hold of a Yashica GS. Everything seems to work and it looks in great shape, but when I hold the camera and tilt it forward slightly I can hear a soft metallic clinking noise inside as if something is loose. I presume this is not normal. Anyone know what it might be?

I have now run a couple of rolls of film through the camera and it seems to work fine. But it still rattles. So now I am faced with the dilemma of leaving it alone (if it ain't broke don't fix it?) or taking the top plate off and having a look inside. How difficult is it and is it worth it?

Attached some of my first shots. Delta 400 rated @ 400 in Prescysol EF. 10.5 mins semi stand development.

have you tried putting a finger on the front viewfinder glass and tilting forward?, also on the light meter glass?, if the noise is soft it could be the little plates that resize the light meter hole, I have taken the top off my 3 electros and the plates that resize the light meter sort of rattle, they have to to be free enough to resize - If it takes good pics, Leave it alone is my advice, BTW if you had a nikon D50, you hear a rattle as well , which senses if the pic is portrait or landscape, so you can always keep that in mind when you use your electro ;-)

Thanks for the reply. I have figured out what it is. It is the glass in front of the lightmeter. It is a little loose and rocks back and forth when the camera is tilted.

Not sure whether I should just leave well alone, but it is annoying having this chinking noise every time I lift the camera to take a shot. I presumably would have to take the topplate off and use some sort of glue to fix the glass back into place.

You can take the top cover off, its not too difficult there are a couple of good tutorials on the net, try yashica guy and also search under pad of death, there are instructions remove the top there as well,

Thanks. I also use alkali stop and alkali fix. I think this is supposed to help with this developer. I'm thinking of standardising on this developer for normal processing and maybe using Diafine for push processing.
