I have just aquired a GS645 wide at what I think is a good price - however the rear of lens has some markings internally - does any one have any past experience on the price of a full service to have these marks removed.

Glenn, sorry to hear of the lens marks... I'd suggest the first step is to run a roll of film through it, trying for a variety of apertures (take notes) to see what if any effect they have on the image. Include some strong backlight too, and different difficult lighting situations to see what effect that might have.

The marks could be any of several things, and so without a close-up photo of them and/or detailed description, it's hard to narrow it down. Cleaning marks might be reasonably common on the rear surface of the glass, or even a greasy fingerprint! Internally, though it might be haze from lubricants or even a fungus attack. The fungus often looks like irregular tendrils reaching across the glass.

There's a Fuji expert in the eastern USA who is also very reasonable in price... Frank Marshman at Camera Wiz is often mentioned online as a expert with Fuji rangefinders, and he gave me great service on multiple problems with my GS645S.
