Hi guys, I have gotten myself a mint GSN a couple of days ago. While everything else appears to work correctly (I assume they are) the split-images in the little yellow diamond box in the middle are not moving a bit, no matter how I turn the focusing ring.
What seems to be the problems? Can someone shed some light here? Much appreciated.
Would this be a go for diy repair?
I had just shot a roll of expired 2005 negatives and I am sending in today for processing (cross my fingers) and hopefully something will come out of the roll.
Much thanks guys

Perhaps a bit trivial, but the Electro doesn't really do split-image the way Leica and Bessas do, because it lacks a hard edge on the RF patch. But assuming you mean the double-image isn't moving, I'm guessing this means the linkage is damaged. No rattling or anything? And the RF patch appears yellow, correct?

I don't know about bessa or leica(I don't own neither but good info), I am quite certain that only one image moves (correct me if I am wrong), whether to the left or right to form a single image depends on the direction of the focusing ring being turned, yes?
Yup, nothing moves at all. No rattling no loose parts. What linkage may I ask? Is this fixable? I have no problems opening up gsn, I have tried a few already.

Might be the linkage is just stuck from dirt or dried out grease or the spring isn't strong enough to pull the mirror back into position.
Maybe have a look here:

Mr_Flibble, that is good suggestion. I think its time to open up the beauty. Thanks.
More input please, thanks

Update;
Hooray! I got 12 out of 12 from the expired 2005 roll and they look sharp. I had to use zone-focusing but since they are expired negs, the colors are way off but I can still see the sharp outlines. So i am going to get a good roll to test it out over the next couple of days.
I am excited.

Updates:
I ran through a roll and here are some of the decent results I gotten, using zone-focusing, since there's no way to use the split-image focusing. I am very pleased. Next action: to send in for a full CLA.
