This will probably be a short thread...perhaps quickly closed. I have a Graflex Crown Graphic and Speed Graphic...but I focus through the glass....they are both a view/rangefinder. Do I post into RFF or no? I'll admit I use the glass to focus not the RF. I do shoot Bessa RF's and a Polaroid 600SE which I love, but have not reached the level I am pleased with photographically to post the results.

So after all that..should I post images focused through the glass or be the purist, and only do the true RF images ( I have not learned the RF calibration skill yet for the Graflex..it is way off). I suspect I know the answer, but would like to hear from the other Graflex users....

BTW this place is amazing...the combined knowledge is daunting, but at the same time very exciting.

Thanks!

You poor dear man (I assume)... these are the kinds of things you feel guilt over? I'll gladly concur with the earlier reply. Please post whatever you want to post... to your heart's delight, and feel no guilt in the future.

I had my Speed Graphic for 4 years before I calibrated the RF.
It's actually not that hard, just takes a little time and patience.
And apparently a few years to get around to actually doing it! :)

Dear all, a heads up .... I have posted some of my Large Format work, but since I'm lazy, the full post is in the modern 120rf's section ....

note to moderator: If this is too much of a cross post, drop a note, and I'll not do it again!

Looking very much forward to that LF work of yours.

Go to Graflex.org. They have an online reference library. Complete text (photos and instructions) for adjusting ALL the models of the Kalart RF can be found here. There's a help forum, with separate sub-headings for various cameras. Free to join, easy sign up, no pop-ups or sales of any kind. This is a non-profit historical group. They don't have a photo gallery like here. It's a tech-centered site focused on keeping your Graflex L.F. SLR's and Graphic Press Cameras up and shooting. Good luck.;)

Y'know, I actually don't see the point of using an RF or LF cameras :)

Sure, more precise and easier focusing is nice, but you'll miss that lovely look of the subject on the ground glass.

And that's the one experience that I look forward to aside from the big negative afterward.
