I think TSAI has got it about right. Women are more likely to be aking pictures - with virtually any camera that comes to hand while the boys are out consuming more gear and comparing their lens' bokeh or something.
 
My daughter today using the Konica Auto S2 I gave her, She loved it and I may have converted her to Rangefinders. She was already using digital, and My monolta maxxum. Here is a pic unfortantly its not very sharpe.

To have a young son or daughter converted to RFs is definitively an outstanding achievement. Next step perhaps: why not introducing her to our forum to have fun with us ?

I just joined and brought the female percentage up a touch. I'm a new rangefinder user-- gravitated this way via medium format!

Does this mean that if you are looking for a female soul mate, you need to go to another site? Maybe even sell off your RFs and then re-equip!! (gasp!)

hi Cindy and Jil - by buying a rangefinder , i had hoped to ditch the heavy metal [ Nikkormat ] for a lighter touch ... Leica II ... more classical ?
I have learned a lot here - especially avoiding the heated discussions !

I voted so I could see the skew ratio, but now I need to get my wife (mostly digital, but shoots my RF's now and again), my niece (camphone mostly these days, but still shoots her SLR and occasionally the Mamiya TLR I gave her when she was an arts major at Mills) and my daughter (who just likes daddy's cameras) to join and vote, instead of just looking over my shoulder.

I admit though, I came here to learn more about RFs and photo technique - which I have and am - but found a fellowship of fondlers as well.

I don't think women have GAS.
