Half frame digital: the Fujifilm X-HF1?

I’d really like to see Fuji offer a 2:3 (vertical format when camera is held horizontally) in their ILCs to emulate the half frame experience. The 40MP cameras have enough resolution to get away with this, maybe make it a part of the Filter Options like Toy Camera and Miniature.

hmm? I just looked at some of my Olympus Pen negatives and they're 24x18 mm ... one-half the 24x36 frame ... or 1.33:1 (4:3) proportion, not 1.5:1 (3:2)...? 🤔

Half frame 35mm is a vertical 3:4 aspect ratio at 18x24mm.

APS-C is 3:2 ratio at ~16x24mm.

I always thought Olympus should have used a portrait orientation sensor in its PEN-F digital camera.

FWIW, OM does offer a vertical 3:4 crop as a standard jpg option across the line. This feature is included in the Pen F.
