Is there anyone on this forum that is making zines/magazines?

I have a 50pg. Zine that is going to be released on the 24th at USC and was wondering if there were other people on here that are publishing their own magazines for sale or trade. if anyone is interested in doing a zine for zine let me know and i would love to trade. I would also suggest to anyone that is making zines/magazines to put it up for view on issuu.com if your interested in sharing it for free.

This is a mockup for the first issue of a magazine that ive been working on called This Is, it has photography, paintings, drawings, music (cd inside physical copies), lifestyle, artist profiles + more.
50pg hand sewn.

thanks, Jeff

im sure i can work that out. im also going to be putting it up for full web viewing on issuu.com/thisismagazine on the release date (march 24th) and allowing people to download it but if you want a hand made copy id be into sending some across seas.

Been there , done that and have moved on. I'm glad I did to it, tho. I hope you enjoy yourself. Some of the best times of my life were making zines and zine related stuff.

man was it fun while it lasted...

if you send me an address ill send you a copy out of respect for being a former zine maker:cool:

with all due respect, an ezine ain't a zine. Which is what I meant when I said it was fun while it lasted.

Then the internet came along....

LOL, Magcloud is an HP owned site. All those zines can be printed on demand via an HP Indigo digital press.

Don't tell me you used to hand set the metal type for your zine did you?

Like I said, with all due respect...

you were either there pre-internet zines or you were not.

Who wants a zine community that's, as you say, Magcloud is an HP owned site. All those zines can be printed on demand via an HP Indigo digital press..

not me, sounds god awful.

and I have done some letter press zine stuff, since you asked....

I can appreciate your sentimentality. I have a prepress background and experience with film stripping, though I never had to set metal type - started with linotype and process cameras. A buddy of mine runs a letterpress shop though. I'm planning on doing a shoot there of him operating the press - black and white. Check out his shop here (not my pics): http://www.flickr.com/photos/fox-and-found/

there was something about communicating thru mail. there was something about, if you wanted crazy footage of some crazy tv preacher, you'd read about it in a zine and get a tape from the editor.

now you just hit a button on you tube.

the internet killed the zine community I TELL YOU.

ok, last weepy sentimental post
