Hi,

I'm looking to purchase either an Ikon ZM or an M6 in the near future. So, GTA RFF'ers - is there a place in Toronto where I can try the ZM out? Or (and I know this is a lot to ask) could I beg a GTA RFF'er to bring their ZM out to the next RFF meetup so that I could take a quick peek at it? 😱

Thanks!
Allen

Having owned both... get the M6ttl. had too many quirky problems with the two ZMs i went through. Easier to service the M6 as well.

Thanks guys!

Burlington is a bit far out, but I'll drive there if needs be.

gruyk - what, specifically, went wrong with the ZM? I'm looking into it because I'm an eyeglass wearer who primarily shoots 35mm. I've read that the ZM viewfinder is excellent for that purpose. And, of course, immediate costs have a role to play as well.

No camera is perfect.

The worst fault of a ZM is that it is not a Leica...and Japanese made. It really mocks the 50 years of little progress in the M.

Zeiss is optics. Leica is a new comer compared to Zeiss. CV lenses are superb too. What you don't spend on the Leica myth will buy you a whole ZM kit.

Another vote for Rob @ Big Camera Workshops. I've never been there in person but he was great to deal with before and after the sale for my 35mm ZM Biogon.

Yet another vote of confidence in Rob. I was one of the unlucky with the ZI; he was great about resolving the issues, and excellent to deal with generally.
