Same thing happened to me on photo.net.
I think of Al often, and especially today.
I'm struggling with OHS issues around smoking on our work site here, and often think about Al when I come up against stubbornly addicted smokers; trying to balance choice with outcomes is hard, but Al really helped me develop my attitude to some of that stuff.

I look at today's birthdays first thing every day and saw Al's name and I am so glad, Todd, that you posted a Happy Birthday for Al. He is a tremendous guy.

I'm glad to be reminded of Al. Al took photos my family for a rare occasion when my kids, grandchildren, and my father were all together in Miami at the same time. I wanted negatives and conventional prints for their longevity. Al did a great job, using his M2 and the 85mm Nikkor. My father passed away and so did Al, but I have the lovely prints, as do my children, and the grandchildren will have prints and negatives someday.
