Well well well... who was I for not being online then? Thank you very much, my friends.

My family offered me a Plexiglas armchair (I haven't seen the message yet), and I confess I offered myself (and the rest of the family...) a Minolta Dynax 7D some time in March. Importer's demo stock, like new, <30% of introductory price, return on investment in 6 months.

I must confess to get results I like from raw files - with a lot less fiddling than when scanning Provia or Reala or Superia. The DNG idea and redundant huge external USB2 disks appease my archival fears.

And the one lab which provided 1-hour E6 service near my office at the beginning of this year no longer does. So I find myself looking closer at RD1s... :/

And yes, considering the Minolta 7D abysmal flash performance (compared to film 9 or 9xi or even an old 'computer' flash), it had better be available light!
