I just acquired an OUAGO in lovely condition, complete with the original box.

Not the most exciting or expensive of items, I know, but it has a slight "Soviet" feeling to the helical - moving too easy in some parts, heavy and gummed up in others. It works fine, but I know it could feel better.

Does anyone have any insights on what disassembly and relubrication of these things entails? My guess is start by removing the back plate, but if you have to take off the vulcanite on the front, it might not be worth diving into at this point.

A number of years ago I opened one in order to put some molybdenum disulphide into the helix. BUT totally ignorant of how to get a multi "entrance" helix together in an orderly manner I messed up its infinity setting. After that. I have never again committed such vandalism.
