I'm wondering if something's up with Morgan Sparks and cameraleather...I've been waiting 2 and a half months for a covering I bought, and they are no longer answering my emails. I'm less concerned about losing my $17 than I am getting to use Morgan's service in the future--I have an SLR I'd like to recover as well, but I'm leery of ordering at the moment. I'm not eager to become a "problem customer."

Has anyone heard from them? Are they having problems with their business?

I emailed Morgan this past Friday & he replied the next Morning
and said he could have the black goatskin posted to me by this Monday Morning :eek:

Yeah I ordered leather for my M3 and IIIa back in February, got no response from emails but on occasion got questions back like which strap lugs on the M3. They just said my leather would be in this past Tuesday, and well almost a week later no reply again.

Ugh I just want the new leather

My experience exactly! So it isn't just me, good. Another member tells me not to worry, sometimes they're just like that...

I'm waiting for a set of Charcoal Griptac for my new M4-2 and M4-2 Winder. The GMP Grip, which I also sent to him, to custom cut a few. He said he send out the kit, and would send out the grip in a few. Nothing so far, he does fabulous work, and I'm not at all worried, it's normal. Luckily I am patient, and not at all in a hurry. He always comes through, in the end.

How wonder how many thousand's of email he gets daily requesting where such and such an order is. If he was smart he would post an estimated ship date on each offering.

I ordered griptac for my M8 a bit over a month ago and got it within a week.

Who I'm worried about is Don Goldberg. He's had my 35 'cron and 75 'lux about two months now. And I need to send in my 50 'lux because a screw fell out.

Morgan always gets his work done, worry not. It may take a little longer sometimes, but it arrives and is perfect.

A couple weeks ago I had several emails back and forth with Morgan about sending him a P645 for custom leather. He said, "We have about 30 days worth of work before I can schedule any new custom work. So after April 20 or so we can do something for you."

Just put an order in for some leather for an Oly 35 RC two days ago, let's hope it's something he has in stock and is available to be mailed right away.

I ordered a kit for my Rolleiflex. It took quite a while I must say, but when it arrived, and installed the results were perfect. Easily worth the wait.

Hang in there.

Morgan sent an email to me yesterday, USPS is preparing to ship a package from him. So it seems everything is just fine. The M4-2 and winder/GMPgrip will look so cool with the Charcoal Griptac. Can't wait to get it.

I reckon that he's unable to keep up with demand. And like many one-man shops (or small staff operations), he can't afford or won't hire another person to help him to keep up with orders.

My experience has ranged from a couple of days to months. It's a roll of the dice placing an order with him. You might get your by the end of the week, or you might have to pester him after a month and nothing in the mail.

Sort of a shame, because I really like his materials, but that whole waiting and wondering thing makes him appear as an unreliable vendor.

Ordered a griptac for my canon P around christmas, got it in March. Previously when I had ordered a set of leather, it arrived in two weeks. Not hearing anything from the guy for a couple of months was the most unsettling thing. I knew from his reputation that he would deliver a good product (eventually) so I was not too worried, but it is kinda aggravating to see that RFF folks who placed orders a month or more after mine got their order filled before I did

One problem with cameraleather's website is that when you make an order you must write down the type of camera the new leather is for in a small textbox - which I always forget to do.

well, after a few months of waiting... my new leather finally came.
I'm glad that it did, I was worried for a while and now I can rest easy.
