Just curious. A few of those combinations look mighty tempting to me. I really dislike the sandpaper finish of the standard MP and the Leica logo on top looks incomplete to me...
Of course none of this will make one take a better picture but nonetheless, I'd love to order a pretty MP..
Has anyone (who will admit it) ordered one or received one?
Perhaps time is running out, I dunno; I hope not...

Yeah, I've whipped up about five of them myself. A silly thing to do but somehow I can't resist. Totally expensive as heck though.
Still....

I keep considering it... but I think my lovely wife would kill me when she found out how much I spent.

Oh, and black MP, rewind crank, no marking, vulkanite. .72, all frames
Yeah, I've tried that too; rather like "building" your own new Mercedes only LOTS cheaper. http://www.mbusa.com/brand/index.jsp Scare (hopefully) the spouse with this concept, then retreat to the ala carte MP.

On the other hand, one can get a new "USA" LHSA Hammertone MP for $2,850.00 which is only a few hunderd bucks more than a standard USA MP. And it has a very nice "vintage" body covering (the same as used on the "O" camera) plus full script engraving on top and a really durable finish that goes with both black, titanium and chrome lenses. (Sounds like I'm describing a fashion show)..
At any rate, I have one and it's a nifty shooter and nifty to look at, as well as being at least $1,000 cheaper than an MP ala carte...

It is fun to play around with the site and build a few cameras. Too bad I can't scan in my signature to see what it would look like engraved on top.
What I am curious to see is when these cameras hit the resale market, what some have engraved on them. Collectors don't seem to like social security numbers engraved on the cameras, imagine trying to sell one that said "Happy Birthday, Snuggle-monkey!" or "Photo.net most elitist post award 2005"

Or how about "RFF's first Russian Female"?
