Not much to see when searching this topic,

Has anyone re-covered their Nikon RF?

I see both Morgan and Aki offer kits for the S and S2 (which seems to me adaptable to the SP and S3?)

I know it's not a typical issue for Nikon RF's, but there has to be a few out there!

Let's see em!

Yes, I did re-cover leatherette on my S, which was in poor condition.

The S2, SP, S3 and S4 are covered with vinyle not leather, so they usually don't need to be replaced.

The S2 covering kits from Aki and Morgan should be adaptable to the S3 and SP but you'll need to punch the hole for the selftimer lever yourself (not difficult once you've got the puncher of the good diameter).

I wouldn't personally recover a Nikon RF body unless the original covering had gone very bad, which happens on the M and S cameras only.

What if said camera was in good working order but cosmetically challenged?

No harm right? Not exactly a collectible 😉

I have a serious set of punches I've accumulated over the past few years for leatherwork and gasket making. I'm sure I have something suitable.

No plans to recover my new-to-me SP just yet, but I'm thinking ill send the girlfriend to Morgan's site to grab that sexy Coral kid skin for my birthday in a month or so.

What's more sacrilege than a Pink SP? The idea makes me smile.

Really? no one else hates that Nikon vinyl?

It's slippery, hard, and feels like plastic (oh it kind of is)

It's got to go!
