Has anyone seen a Bessa Brass?

Love to see some photos of well used CV Bessa's. Especially Black paint R*M's.

My old Bessa R had 'brassed' corners....just a greyish plastic. It made the camera look even cheaper haha.

Aren't they zinc or magnesium underneath? They'd just kind of "silver" instead of brass.

like most things today, the small amount of metal still used for parts will probably be some horrible recycle brew - brass and bronze are 'precious metals' now! - so I think a well worn Bessa would probably look like SH.... you know what! 😀

not at all.

The earlier Bessa L, T, and R had plastic outer covers attached to a diecast metal body.

The Bessa R2, R2M, R3M, R4M, R2A, R3A and R4M were all available in various types black paint.

The R2M, R3M, and R4M are all available in classic style black paint. Of course the top and bottom covers are magnesium alloy, not brass.

ok so what does that magnesium alloy look like when the paint starts to wear off?

My R2 has some wear to the black finish. Sure looks like plastic.
I guess it could be magnesium. It's bulletproof that camera very steady performer.

Somebody here has an R2 with almost all the paint worn off. I thought it was in the big old "Bessa R review" thread but I couldn't find it.
