Keks M-Meter, modern Leica MR meter

This is absolutely super cool! Bravo to Keks for making a replacement for the MRs. And it seems to be cheaper new than working MR4s. 🙂.

That looks like a cool little meter too, esp. the top display version. I have a KM-02 that I use with my other cameras when I want a shoe mounted light meter.

A little tricky to get installed, feels like it should raise up a little taller. Quick demo video showing it in action. You can set it for single shot exposure metering or have it continuously update. Can also set shutter speed for the diferent scales on the M3, aperture for full, half or third stops and the same with ISO. Also has compensation for filters.

Mine is somewhere stuck in the post. Should have been delivered last week 🙁
 
I have a little Voigtlander VC Meter that fits in the hot shoe and works well. It uses the little button cells available from the drug store. I don't know if they still sell them but they are a great little meter as well.
 
Yup, I have one of them too along with a Keks 02 and a few handheld meters. This one integrates with the M though so it knows the shutter speed selected and gives you the corresponding F stop. Will be a little quicker to use as you can leave it at the shutter speed you want and then just set the F stop, or turn the shutter until the F stop matches what you have set on the lens.
 
I'll watch what folks are saying about this new 'MR' meter with a fair bit of interest. I have an older MR meter, bought in the early '80's, that was later modified by a fellow in Germany (about three years ago). Unfortunately, it never did work that well afterwards. Thanks for your reviews about this new one.

They just started shipping them and if you ordered in April you will be further back on the list.

I ordered on Mar 7th, the first day of pre-orders.

On facebook they posted on June 27th:

"We’re hard at work finalizing production of the M-Meter, and I’m pleased to share that the first batch will begin shipping next week in order of purchase date.
Due to the large volume of pre-orders, fulfillment will take longer than usual, and we appreciate your continued patience as we work through them.
Thank you all for the incredible support, especially during the delays."

I ordered mine on March 9th. Just logged into my KEKS account and it states status "pending". I ordered the black paint version, maybe that's why it takes so long?
