Hi everyone.

I came across this unusual post on one of the fb groups I follow. I am relieved to say that this is not my camera or my picture (phew....).

This guy's harness broke off and the camera fell from a 3 feet height on the floor with the flash on.

Has anyone seen a damage like this on a DP-20 prism. My understanding is that it is 2mm thick metal. Or is it? 🤷‍♂️

If this happened in Australia, the unfortunate and I'm sure, unhappy owner would be financially far better off throwing away the camera, or donating it to a repair shop for use as parts, and buying a new/used one online.

This said, I've seen one or two similar in the past. And they were repaired. Back in the day when such work was - affordable. Not sure about now.

I start wondering if the DP20 is actually plastic reinforced with carbon fibers. It feels less cold compared to the F5 titanium prism 🙄

Don’t throw away the camera, just get a new prism 🙂
It's not my camera, it is a picture taken from a fb group. Mine works well (touch wood).

The more I examine mine, the more convinced I am that the prism is actually carbon reinforced plastic, not metal.
