Has anyone tried HP Scanjet G4050?

Hi,

Has anyone tried G4050 and how did you find the scan quality? HP claims the new 6-channel color technology will give better scans. It does this using 2 passes with different light intensity.

How does this compare to those from Epson or Nikon?

According to PCMAG it does not retain as much detail as the Epson 750 or Canon 9950 and the software is slow. Thus I tend to exclude it from my list. However it is certainly cheap.

Giving this a bump - I am also looking at it.
Future shop has it for Can$189 and it seems attractive at this price.
