I apologize if this is a duplicate thread but I am quite concerned about my lack of response from Morgan at Camerleather.com. I have had excellent service from him in the past on three cameras but he has had my Nikon S since early February and I have had no response to my emails on its status. I wrote him last week and I hope I get a response to that letter. Anyone able to provide information on recent transactions with him? Thanks.

I got a couple of sheets of leatherette in the mail from him three days ago. I've heard several times over the years that he just isn't very good at answering email. Tends to misplace things too. If he's had your camera since March, that sounds a little extreme though. Next time, if there is one, just order the kit and install it yourself. If you have both your hands, and haven't got delirium tremens, there's nothing to it and you'll be done in days instead of months.

Thanks for the response. So he, or someone, is there but that makes it even more frustrating given the long time with no response (checked some emails and found he has had it since early February!). Sigh...arrrghhh...sigh...Is my camera lost? Stolen?

He emailed me back this week about a cover I havd on back order & upgraded me for free to the next one better as he was out of stock on mine. Said it would ship to me this week.

I've dealt with Morgan for quite a few years. While he get's a little erratic at times. you won't get stiffed. He's a real decent guy. I don't believe your camera is lost or stolen at least by him.
Keep emailing him. He has lost my emails and if I did not keep at it, who knows.

After all that, I still keep using him when I need a cover for a camera.

Good Luck

Decent fellow.

I got a camera cover in error, mailed him about it and got an e-mail in reply the same day saying he had mixed up orders and the other guy had also gotten in touch already.

I got a new Leica M3 set in the mail at no extra charge, the erroneous one I did not need to return. All this was +6 months ago, btw. Now, where did I put that other kit...?

A couple of weeks ago I ordered two kits from him on a Sunday, and had them by that week's Thurday.
That doesn't really address your problem, but was my experience with him.

I think when he does the recovering for you is when things get slow- but his work is impeccable. He took a month or so on my M5, but like Randy I'll send my next job to him anyway.

My experience is,

1. He can be very slow (admittedly I live in Australia)
2. Takes some time to answer emails
3. Is an extremely nice guy
4. He will always make sure the customer is happy (eventually)

I just think he is a little forgetful and needs reminding. I have covered three cameras. The last was my R-D1. It took a long time to get answers by email about the price prior to order. Then a while to receive. The leather was the wrong size (just). He then replaced with two new sets (to make sure one fitted perfectly) at no extra cost, which was sent fairly quickly. This is the after sales service that he gives and can't be faulted.

I agree with the other poster who suggested you do it yourself. It's very easy and you get the satisfaction of a job well done. There is no way I could of gone without my R-D1 for time it would have taken if I had sent the camera to him, especially considering the extra cost of postage etc.

I don't believe that your camera is stolen.

Cheers - John

I've been dealing with him for three years or so. Once he sent an order of mine to some other person with the same last name, another time he sent the order to an old address (even though my correct address was on the PayPal notification) and then another time he sent the wrong kit. But those were the exceptions and he quickly made good on all of them, even once sending a kit by Priority Mail at his expense. Keep in touch; I expect he'll make good.

Ordered a griptac kit from him for my RD1 (in the classifieds), came a week later with handwritten detailed instructions. Great product, great service.

Bob, I'll add my voice to the chorus praising Morgan's product. While I didn't have him apply the cover for me, it took about a week or two to arrive.

I ordered some leather on a Sunday last month. I got it the following Wednesday.

Still waiting for the camera it's supposed to go on though. C'mooon, Hama!

I do my own work, so I buy sheets and the very occasional kit when I'm feeling lazy. So far, Everything has arrived within 4 or 5 days of ordering, and I've ordered a few. I'm guessing here, but cutting up sheets and custom installing them is not something you do in an hour (unless someone has already cut it up for you, in kit form). He undoubtedly gets a lot of business, and he's probably backed up is all.

Thanks all. I have had three excellent recovering jobs done by Morgan and I count him as a friend. That's why my concern about no correspondence since February. If he is around and OK, well, I at least hope I get some response to recent emails. Phone number? Not available as far as I can find.

I have used Morgan Twice / applied the skins myself....Easy :D

Both Times he was responsive to my Emails....

I'm in NY
it took just a matter of days for my M2's
