Has shutter button come off your Fuji GF670?

Recently the shutter-release button came unscrewed from my Fuji GF670W and was lost. I know this has happened occasionally to others, whether it's my model or the GF670, The Bessa 667, or the Bessa 667W.

After trying almost every option, I resigned myself to the reality of no available parts--not through Fujifilm, Voigtlander, Cosina, anyplace. So the camera is now at SK Grimes, waiting for them to fabricate the two parts that make up the mechanism.

If this has happened to your Fuji, please let me know. Grimes can easily fabricate the threaded metal disc that surrounds the shutter-release button. But they're not certain about the button itself unless they can see what it looks like and how exactly it attaches to the shutter-release shaft in the camera. Thanks.

Here's a photo of my camera.

My (new to me) GF670 doesn’t have this issue (yet?). I will be sure to watch out for it and hopefully catch it before it’s lost.

How did the fabrication work out?

Mind did but I was lucky to find the parts on the ground. In my case I think using a cable release helped to loosen it. I reassembled with a tiny bit of finger nail polish on the threads to keep it from getting loose again. Worked well for a long time now 👍Might want to see how loose yours is and take some preventive measures.

Give Bellamy Hunt at Japan Camera Hunter an email.
He can negotiate with Fuji in Japan (in Japanese naturally) to get you items that Fuji USA cannot get.

I sent my GF 670 to Japan to get the notorious battery drain issue repaired.
Fuji USA sent it back to me with a note that said "no parts, can't repair".
Fuji in Japan had the circuit boards and repaired it for me.
It is now on the way back from Japan.
