Sorry about photo size

Congratulations. I have been dreaming of this for nearly 40 years. When my science teacher told me he had the Rolls Royce of cameras I was astonished to see this horrible brown leather case with the absurdity of a tripod bush at one end of the base. I wasn't even interested to look inside the case. It wasn't a Hasselblad. I assumed he was deluded.

Congratulations, the Hasselbad is a remarkable camera and system. I have been using mine a bit more recently. They have the most wonderfully sounding loud shutters!!!

More congratulations! Make sure you get a waist-level viewfinder for it. It makes the camera much lighter and easier to handle (IMO).

congrats! i hope your 500C brings you as much joy as mine brings me. 😀

also, i second what Chris said: get a WLV. i'll even go a step further to say that Hasselblads were made for them and you must get one!

The only reason I got rid of mine was that you can't trust layout artists with square trannies. Never mind the content and composition: they'll crop them to fit the space available. So I went to 6x7 cm.

An accessory worth getting is a sheath holder -- a sticky add-on that goes on the back and holds the sheath. If you can't find one new, I may have one somewhere. Also a bayonet > 52mm filter adapter.

Cheers,

R.

Congrats! I miss my 500CM. Sold it for my M6 back in the 80's. Also agree about the WLF. I loved looking down onto the screen. Used a Gossen Luna Pro SBC meter and transferred the EV using the EV lock on the CF lenses. Loved working with that camera.

Love the mechanical typewriter in the last shot!

Enjoy your new friend.

A Phase One back in the studio is shockingly good

(mine is tethered only -I have a first generation/ 3rd version - bb03) - when attached, since there is no film to transport, cranking the winder to advance the shutter is effortless and whisper smooth.

I plan on it! But this is nice to use though

I've been looking on ebay for straps, and will be ordering one soon.

I plan to use this in studio mostly, and use my m6 for street, soo not too much need for s strap and wlf, but then again!

What you need for that rig is the Flash Bracket that attaches to the underside of the body. You hold the ergonomically designed bracket in your left hand, and with the camera's 45 degree prisim, you can crank that thing at 2-3 FPS if you know what you're doing, ala Dennis Reggie!

A waist level finder used to come with a used body, at least at brick & mortar dealers. It will open-up opportunities for you, including low-angle as well as over-the-head shots looking down.

Enjoy!
