I am happened to be in Sweden right now for a business trip and as Hasselblad is a Swedish company, I decided to visit their website and came across this.

Hah, it is a Sony Nex-7 under Hassy skin. Weird. People here told me that it has been sold to a chinese company. Is that true?

I kind of like it, but it seems the price will be stratospheric, whereas Leica's Panasonic cameras are not *that* much more.

No, they'd been Hong Kong owned (and focused on pro products) for a decade, but have now been sold to a German/Swiss venture capital fund. The latter has no other shares in makers of consumer or luxury products, so it is probably not owner driven that Hasselblad are drifting that strange way.

Hasselblad starts a bit resembling Kodak. A pity they have tied up with Fuji, it has been a saddle on the cow, and now this latest thing looks like a skateboard on a camel.

There was a loong thread about this *******ized NEX with lots of venting and gnashing of teeth when first news of it hit - around Photokina-time.

No, no, no. Leica's Panasonics are nothing like as hideous as the Lunatic. Have you SEEN one? They're even worse in real life than in pictures. Which is quite a trick.
