Heyo,
Me again!
I have friend who has a few hasselblad cameras. He is going through a challenging period in his life and needs some extra cash for bills.
I've offered to buy some of his camera equipment to help out, even if it means selling a few things of my own. I can understand his reluctance to use eBay.
He has a SW/C and a 500cm both black trim with respective bits and pieces.
Now I'm not rich by any stretch but I have done well enough for myself and family. What would be a fair price to a friend in need?
Condition is so-so some cleaning marks on the lens and a few scuffs around the body with the viewfinder missing some paint otherwise good working order so we believe.
I'll prolly sell my newest acquisition the Sony A7 and some odd bits (Leica) to fun raise without dipping to deep into my savings.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm must only be a handful of SWC users here.

A nice 500C/M with AM screen, 2 x A12 backs, strap, 60mm and 80mm went for around $1300-1400 in the classifieds recently. Just saying.

I was just doing a bit of research on them because I wanted to get one off ebay. Lee Freidlander has some nice shots with one. It looked like the older ones (they go back to the 50s I believe) will get around 1200 and anything decent/newer will go around $2000+. So that put it out of my price range. I would have gone for it if it was around $700, but they're pretty pricey. Good luck.
I did contact David Odess who repairs them to get his opinion and he was very forthcoming with info. Maybe contacting him will help: http://www.david-odess.com/

If it is an early version with chrome lens but not so great condition with cleaning marks on the lens I would offer $700 max @ajtruhan. You might need a CLA for this old camera so consider that as well. I use a later CF SWC as part of my regular kit and no way would I do without one.
