Hasselblads- what was/is your load out?

Hassy? My favorite system by far:

501CM
500CM
500ELX
1-220 back
8-120 backs
3-extension tubes
Plastic and bellows shades
Proxar
Waist level, NC-2 and chimney finders
50mm FLE CF
60mm CF
80mm CF
100mm CF
120 S-Planar
180mm CF
1.4 XE

Favorite walk around is a 501CM w/ 80 +WL finder. Favorite for street and journalism is 501CM w/ 60, 100 +NC2.

This is serious! I think you were toying with the idea of an SWC at one stage, but went with 6x12?

The Arcbody come up for sale here in NZ when I was going to add an SWC to the Linhof 612, so I sold some digital gear and jumped on it. Is a superb piece of kit. If I have a good year there might just be a digital back for it next year🙂

Hmm, not as many EL or 200/2000 series users

I thought "loadout" was a pretty common term, it simply means the kit you bring out into the field with you

It is because the 200 series is so limited. with the original 2000 you could use also the CF and CFi lenses, but with the 200 series, only the lenses without shutter, or the central shutter does not work.

Only the 202FA had the focal plane limitation - the 201F, 203FE and 205 TCC/FCC could also work the leaf shutter ( and I think work this mode battery less ).
The CF,CFi and CFE lenses all have a 'F' position and would work on the 202FA in that mode.
The 80mm C as supplied with the 501C and CB lenses would not work on the 202FA.

I use this kit:

Transition Model 500 C/M
40mm CF
80mm C
Auto Bellows
135 S
on its way: a 150 CF
A12 and A16 backs
21mm Extension Tube - highly recommended with the 80!

For walking around, it's the body and 80 only. I'm thinking of adding a 60 CF as well. The 40 is one terrific lens but it sure is wide!

OK I will bite.

I have two 500EL/M's, two 500C/M's, and every 70's vintage lens made (excepting the 250 Achromat and the 150Uv). And, dozens of backs and film magazines. Used to shoot weddings with these.

Did you know they made over a hundred different accessories for this camera system? I have about 80% of them.

I call this system "The Erector Set of Photography". Configure it into whatever you want to do with it.

I remember looking at old ads where they showed a photo of a 500C with different era lens/finder/film back on it

My dad used a 250 Super Achromat and a 80 Planar (super early, with a taped on low speed warning, instead of painted on, complete with heavy lens separation), on an EARLY 500C (on body PC connection), with a later (pre latest version) WLF and A12

The 60mm is like a 35mm lens on 135 format - very flexible in general, great for a portrait of a group of people - you don't get the distortion yet - and very useful for landscape.

Completely agree, just like 65mm in 6x7 cameras.
Actually I wish Hasseblads are 6x7.

Today's "load out" was to be a 500CM, 80mm planar, 50mm Distagon, and a couple of backs with Trix and Velvia. But when I lifted up my bag, I thought "hell if I want carry this around all day".

Instead, I picked up my Pen W, and a single roll of Trix,

To all "middle format wannabees" I would like to say: Beware of the old chrome Hassy lenses ! Compur shutter much more fragile than Prontors, 150mm chrome lens VERY suspectible to flare... I only use the black Prontor shutter CF and CFi lenses, world apart from those chromes.

The chromes are nice. Has that gorgeous, retro, Zeiss feel. The Compur is a nicer made/designed shutter, but does not age well

500cm + waist level + 80mm C + plastic lens hood + A12 + Tri-X

Oh and a Pro Strap that easily takes a 3rd of the weight off.

I have a 45 non-metered prism which is lovely and big and bright but too heavy an bulky
