Camera Quest If you want arguably, "the world's sharpest wide-angle lens," the Leica 28mm f2, you will need to pay $4000. You can get into Zeiss' line for about $1100-$1300 for various focal lengths and they're as good by-and-large as the Leica lenses.
Isn't it nice to have options, interchangeably, and the best glass available in a small package? No one trick pony, like the
Dacia Sandero of cameras.
(PS- I don't find 1 stop that critical for general purpose, high ISO digital cameras - if tis is... good for specialty work, maybe, but more a marketing number than significant improvement for a compact.)
