Not that I know of... but I have both. The 35/1.2 is only reason that I do not switch to Nikon RF and keep a Leica... but I have warmed to the 50/1.1 of late as well. Now if only we could get the Cosina lens designers to whip up a 75/1.4 and 90/2.

Yes, they are both fast, but comparing a 35 to a 50 seems to me like comparing Japanese food and Italian food. Which is better, more interesting, etc...? Depends on your taste...

tried the 35 1.2 but it held no Magic for me though admittedly I have seen TONS of STELLAR work from lots of RFF members
I am waiting for Stephen to come back from Maui (arghhhh...holidays )
so I can have my 1.1 Nokton...I can feel it in my Bones..
it will be Magic !!

I don't feel that there's magic in either of these lenses Helen. For me the magic lies in a lens like my 50mm f1.2 Canon.

but I do think the Nokton 1.1 has a Chance
its taken me awhile to warm up to her
but I feel I an seeing something that now Catches my EYE
and i am eager to EXPLORE....

i was thinking more in terms of centre sharpness, edge sharpness...bokeh etc.
also the 'look' that each produces, if they share a similar character, heritage...family line.

That's Lynn's expertise at play ... he could have produced as good with several other lenses I can think of.
I don't think noir-esque photography stresses any lens's credentials ... it just needs speed along with expert processing for the final result.

They render really differently. I like the 35/1.2 much better. I have a bunch of shots from both somewhere, but am working like mad until the end of this month when I go away for a couple of months.

Hmmm... I do not know... I am in the middle of publishing a new post where I am going to recant on my hard-line position on the Nokton 50/1.1. It is not magical... but very, very capable.
Joe, I do not do side by side tests of any my lenses. But I have been shooting the 50/1.1 alot of late. Different rendering than the 35/1.2... but not far off. The 50/1.1 is a very high resolution lens in practice with plenty contrast even wide-open... the 35/1.2 is softer wide open and lower contrast across all apertures. The out-of-focus and transitions are well controlled and smooth in the 50/1.1 where as the 35/1.2 can show abit temperamentalness at times.
And I agree with Keith... choice of film, developer, and processing makes a huge difference how the lens are perceived.

i need to find more shooting time...
i shoot on the rd1 and that likely changes the looks a bit also.
if i can, i will shoot both at the same event soon.

H...you can pick up the Nokton at Photo Village at 26th and Broadway..1133 I think. Problem with the tax though...it is in stock..looked at one last week.
