Hi,
I don't know about the rest of you but I'd not buy any camera for investment when it's too new. The time to buy is when they are an "old" and "obsolete" camera, meaning opening on ebay for 99p and then selling for a few hundred, perhaps. Then wait for a good one in working order or else a good looking one and have it repaired. Use it a bit and wait for the right time to sell it.
The only alternative is rummaging through the flea markets and being lucky. But even then you have to be prepared to waste a film on it and then there's the worry of selling it at the right time.
Buy new or a year or two old to use and get your money's worth, is how I see it.

A lot of dealers do it.
Look at all the 99p things with one bid on them on ebay. You can get a lot of them for the next step in the bidding chain, usually 5p more...

This one looks completely genuine and it is indeed really rare, as Leica recalled them (nearly) all.

I'm surprised as all get-out that this is being sold to the public. A few years ago one of the M9 prototype testers said that he was out shopping, and someone asked to see the 'M8' around his neck. When he looked through the viewfinder, the man said, 'but this looks like it's full frame!' Funny stuff.

Hi,
I think you'll find there's a long history of Leica testers being asked questions about prototypes and being evasive or else telling a white lie or two. Most of the early books include one. Just don't ask me to list them all or even find them.

Sure, because you can judge full frame vs. crop by looking through an optical finder...

You can just open up the curtain and check the sensor way easier. Anyway yes its rare but not something I would buy..

I'm surprised its not photo-arsenal selling it, lol. Of course, they'd charge $50,000 for it!
