Life is too short to go back to the beginning. I'm too excited about today! One certainly can find time to reflect. I haven't reached the end of the loop yet....
Hopefully we learn from our past experiences, but aren't doomed to re-live them.
My first "car" was a 1950 half-ton Ford F-1 pickup. I have dear and wonderful memories made in that old truck. I also realize that it handled like I was a drunk, rode like a lumber wagon, needed both feet dragging outside to stop, and had a non-sychronised transmission that required a double-clutch to shift. The heater was a joke and the vacuum windshield wiper was only slight less effective than a rag. There's one for sale in my town right now. It is a wonderful trip down memory lane looking at it... I have no desire to buy it.
I have, in fact, revisited some of my past in my photo gear... but generally only those bits that still perform to my expectations today... primarily Leica and Hasselblad. Hopefully I've learned and gained from my experience.
