Been noticing in ads for recent Rollei 35mm stuff mention of "slight haze". Both in P&S cameras and in several of the 40/2.8 LTM Sonnars for the RF. Anyone had a newer Rollei lens opened up and the haze removed?

I saw one on sale on another forum, and now mine. But I have seen several that did not seem to have haze. Also another RFFer bought a clean one recently, as did I - which I am keeping ! :)
So...hopefully there is no trend.
BTW, I spoke with the famous Leica repair"person" who does a complete lens CLA for $125. I assume that would take care of it.

there was a huge batch of rollei sonnar 40/2.8 lenses with varying levels of haze that hit the shops in tokyo six to twelve months back. not sure why they had haze... stored badly maybe? since then, i've seen a few that have been cleaned and they come up fine.

Thanks, that's good to know, since I still own it. Any recommendations as to the best/least expensive repair place ?

There was one on ebay too. Good to hear it can be (?) traced to one batch of lenses.
