HC-110 dil H - concentrate per 36exp roll?

Interestingly, I just typed out a reply to that message ("You need 3ml syrup per roll per the unofficial HC-110 resource page at covington innovations") but, contrary to what I remember, it advises 6.

Well, I can't give you the straight answer like I thought I could. You might, however, do 1:49 (12ml syrup plus water to make 600ml) and choose a development time somewhere between dilutions B and "H," leaning toward H.

When estimating your development time, consider that most films do alright when overdeveloped in HC-110, printing beautifully at a lower contrast, but the added density might be rough on a scanner.

I'm with Conor, The Covington site says 6ml of straight syrup for one 36 exposure roll or one roll of 120 film. If you do the math, the square mm of a 120 roll is about the same as a 2 rolls of 24 exposure 35mm. So therefore, in confusion talk one roll of 35mm per 3 ml of straight syrup, if that roll is a 24 exposure roll. Or to make it more confusing and fun 6 ml for 2 rolls of 24 exposure 35 (as well as the first sentence). I hope this is enough to make everybody go to the calculator and scream.

Thanks for the replies.

I guess I'll just play it safe, and assume that I can do 2 36exp rolls in dilution H if I use a three roll Paterson tank.

Oops, I guess that means I have to buy a new tank. Funny how GAS happens 😀
