I am headed to Vancouver for 6 days this August and hope to get some shooting in. I have a couple questions for those who have been or reside there.

1. Are there any stores you guys would recommend out there for film? I probably won't need anything crazy I'll likely just need a place I can pick up some HP5, TMAX 400 and Ektar. I did some looking around but some of the shops dont have sites and others just dont list film.

2. I'll be staying close by Granville Island (never been in that part of Vancouver) and just wondering what will be good to see around there :p Staying with my cousin so I wont be completely alone but at the same time I'll have to go out and entertain myself at some point while they work and preparing for a wedding. I'll shoot almost anything, street, birds, boats, bikes, cars, sand, you name it.

Aside from those two questions I have the rest all worked out I think.

Thanks!~

Granville Island is my favourite spot in Vancouver. It has a food market there that I would gladly spend all my days, and just people-watch. Take the harbour cruise - it is a blast.

For film, try Leo's Camera - and check out their used Leica's and classical cameras. Great store. Prices are a bit all over, but I've found some real gems there. And they've got film.

There is a photo finisher at 4th Ave and Pine (I think), very close to Granville Island, that is very good. I can't remember their name.

And meet up with Tom A and the gang, for chatting about photography.

I'll be there the last week of July and first week of Aug with my family. I hope the weather will be good.

If you're close to Granville Island. Go to Beau Photo. Just a stone's throw away (as is ABC) But they are closed on weekends unfortunately.

I'll just have to make sure to stock up on film when I land then :p

Don't forget to visit Aphrodites Organic Cafe & Pies (4th Ave near Alma) on Tuesday nights and Zen Cafe (Yew & Cornwall) on Friday mornings. You'll surely bump into rangefinder carrying photogs.

Then there's the Olympic village at False Creek and Science World for something new & modern. China Town is another kilometer from Science World.

Thanks, I do enjoy coffee, I will add to my ever growing evernote notebook.

ABC photocolour has a reasonable supply of film,BUT Beau Photo a couple of blocks away has a fantastic selection of film. You're gonig to love having a camera in Vancouver.Too bad the cherry blossoms are finished (get here in April for that)
