Heads Up: m6ti on ebay cheap!

John I'm just letting guys know it's there, they usually have a high starting price or reserve but this one doesn't.

Rather see it go to an RFFer!

Also just FYI, The Photo Village in NYC has a rather nice M6 Ti sitting around at $1895 usd that I looked at earlier this week. NOt my style but rather nice, and the price isn't bad either. They also had the 90 ti summicron for something like 2095.

The photo village is a great shop, but at 1895 for a "near mint" m6 titanium, the one on ebay is only still going for 1490 with 20 hours or so left!

Someones going to be picking up an absolute bargain - this one is MINT!

Honestly, I have no idea why the serial number is desirable - was also unaware that the poster was touting his own auction. Would not have commented had I known that.

Guess my comment is mooted by the fact that this thread is really just about drumming up bidders for his own auction, but I'll make it anyway. You can't judge a final price on Ebay by the current price days before the end, as most savvy ebayers know to submit their final bids in the last seconds of the auction. Good luck with the sale, but my advice would be next time come clean about the fact that it's your own auction.

Excuse me, but I never promoted that it wasn't my auction - it is my auction, and theres no problem with promoting it.

At the moment, with 15hrs left going for $1490us, yes it is cheaper than the one at say - the photovillage which was mentioned here before for 1890, and is rated near mint by them, which to me means it isn't very near to mint. I was going to buy an m4p from them rated as being good, and was really quite worn. Still a nice camera though!

The serial number is desirable because it is in the sweet spot of m6 production. a few hundred before and leica was still getting the metering consistant - you'll find on the earlier numbers that the meters will be inconsistant at lower light levels in comparison to each other, and the lowest possible metering EV will be different.
Also, a few hundred after and leica replaced some metal parts in the view finder and i believe film advance with plastic parts (I'm not 100% sure if it was in the film advance as well - just what I've been told)

I paid still 500-600us more than what the camera is going for at this moment from tamarkin in new york, and the camera has had very little use from me or its previous owner - it could pass as a new camera it is so nice.

Also I've stated that if it sells for what I bought it for (2050us), I'll include an Artisan and Artist half case for it which is worth over 100us.

Doesn't sound like such a bad deal to me.

If i've somehow offended someone, I apologise - as I said before, I'd rather it go to someone at RFF because I like the camera.

Hey Erik,

I posted an ad for the camera on RFF a few weeks ago and got some interest but didn't sell

I also posted it again with a heads up on RFF and tis currently on here on the 3rd page or so.

Thanks,
Gavin

Gavin, I was interested but you specifically said in your ad here "Price drop - is now $1600us... Not going any lower."

Not sure why you would put it on fleabay for lower, I'm a little confused
