I use a Leitz FIKUS hood myself, but any other A36 push-on or clamp-on hood for 50mm lenses would do.

I wouldn's say separation is typical. I've never noticed separation in a Hektor 5cm, but I don't see that many of them. Mine is fine. I see about 9 Hektors on ebay right now, either just the lens, or on cameras.
