I have just bought a new Heliar 15mm.
After screwing the lens on my Bessa R2 via the L->M adapter,
I discovered that the hood is not correctly aligned.
What I mean is the top isn't exactly the top.

The white dot on the lens would not correctly align with the top notch on adapter.
I have attached two images, a picture is worth a thousand words.
Is your copy of the Heliar 15mm behaving the same?
Or do I have a bad copy?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Manfred

Mine is about the same as well. This happens a lot with screw mount adapters and screw mount lenses in general. Don't worry about it. It won't effect the images at all.

mine is "screwed" up as well, I'm told you can unscrew the 4 screws on the rear and re-align the mount to fix this issue.

On my Leica LTM-M adapters, the lens is dead on- 12 O'Clock. On a Komura LTM-M (which is what I am using with her) mine is a about half as much in the same direction as yours. With my CV adapter, it is about half way between the Komura and the Leica.

I never saw any difference in the pictures, would not worry about it.

The 15 mounts the same on my Bessa L. I was concerned at first, but I have not experienced any vignetting from the hood. Didier suggested that I take some photos of a light colored wall to check for vignetting. Look at the photos on the cameraquest site of the L and 15. Same "problem".

Roland,
Thanks for the tip!
I have now fixed my 15mm alignment!
I also took a look at my 28mm F1.9, the same trick also works for it too!
See the attachment below,
the Heliar 15mm is now perfectly aligned,
it looks so much better 🙂.

The process took 5 mins only.

Until now I had exactly the same problem with both my 15 Heliar and my 35 Skopar. Thanks to some simple but timely advice from Todd.Hanz, ferider, and pizzahut88, with pictures from the latter two, and a few minutes screwdriver work, I have two perfectly aligned lenses. To coin an expression used in this part of the world........your blood is worth bottling.
