I noticed on several occasions that having the lens at 2.0 was the only way to get an image. My 3.5 Heliar would not have worked.

The 50/2.0 is great for portraits. I am sure that it is also good for other types of photography.The out of focus rendition at 2.0 is wonderful.

The negative may have been underexposed or the scanning process created the extra grain. I usually expose XP2 film at ASA 200.
